It is imperative that the right beekeeper supplies are used at all times when around bees. Beekeeping is a pastime that, while invigorating, also can be dangerous. But both experts and beginners alike can certainly reduce the chance of injury by implementing the use of the proper beekeeper supplies. The majority of the equipment is needed take out the honey but some are necessary to appropriately look after and maintain the bee colonies. All it takes is a little preparation in regards to your hardware and you’ll promptly be on the road to being a competent expert.

The beekeeper supplies are obviously meant to make the beekeepers job more manageable but also to make sure that they are safe while they are looking after the beekeeping hive. This is performed in a number of ways. One is by the beekeeper wearing protective clothing for protection. This means a hat with a veil, thick gloves and a beekeeping suit. The most vulnerable part of the body that can be stung is the face, so it’s important that even the most experienced of beekeepers do not become careless on this point, and protect their faces with a suitable hat and veil. The beekeeping suit itself is commonly white, is of a light weight fabric and is full length. It is intended to not be very easily penetrated by the stinger of a bee and thus defending the beekeeper from the venom of such a sting. Though the gloves can be awkward to use when undertaking some of the more delicate tasks, they are also an important aspect of helping to protect the beekeepers hands when in close proximity with the bee colony.

An important component of the beekeeper supplies is what is known as a “smoker” and should be included in every beekeeping arsenal. Smokers assist in keeping the bees docile and this makes it much less difficult to work around them. A smoker is an instrument that will discharge smoke using different kinds of fuel. There are many different and natural forms of the fuel that can be used in smokers. These vary widely from twine, hessian, pine needles, burlap, ridged cardboard and rotting wood. Tightly compressed cotton and pulped paper are also quite good and even aerosol cans filled with smoke work very well. The smoke causes a natural feeding mechanism within the bees. As a result, they begin the preparations that would be necessary if the possibility of having to vacate the hive in the case of a fire was a reality. The smoke also hides the “alarm” pheromones that the guard bees of the colony release when an emergency is nearby. While the whole colony is in a disorientated state, the beekeeper can then seize the opportunity to open the bee hive and work within its confines without the fear of provoking a defensive reaction from the bees.

It’s quite common for beekeepers to enhance the bees diet with sugar syrup, even though bees are more than capable of foraging for their own food. It’s highly recommended that your beekeeper supplies does include sugar syrup because feeding your bees with this will help avoid the possibility of starving during any bad times of the year when the bees food source is lower than normal. It also acts as a stimulant for the laying of the eggs. The advised approach for beekeepers to properly feed their colony is by using a feeder and there are many various types that are available to choose from. In winter, a hive top, a pail or division boards can be used as inside feeders. During the summer, an entrance feeder can be utilized as this is when the bees are at their most active.

The largest element of your beekeeper supplies is of course the hive itself, which is needed to house your bee colony. Beekeepers utilize artificial hives to keep their bees in which is made of a wax foundation. This will help the colony to build the comb in a way that is favorable for easy harvesting. The foundation itself is a thin sheet of wax that has a hexagonal cell-base pattern etched onto both sides. This assists the bees by reducing their efforts when assembling the combs.

Vegetables are not always in the top of the list of the ideal diet for your bearded dragon. He is ready to eat insects and worms, but may be wary of vegetables at first. The bearded dragon enjoys being hand fed, which can be the first step in teaching your bearded dragon to eat vegetables. The bearded dragon may take some time to learn to eat vegetables, but there are several steps you can take to encourage the bearded dragon to eat vegetables.

There are several ways to promote your bearded dragon to eat vegetables. Many have suggested the Leafs hanging high in a bearded dragon organized. In this way you can pull out pieces of green. Greens can also be placed in a shallow dish so that you can see the bearded dragon. If a young bearded dragons can be seen in their food, usually does not eat it. The addition of crickets and greens also encourage the bearded dragon to eat vegetables, because they stick to cricket, they capture some of the green as well. Eventually, they learn to eat vegetables. Arrest of crickets for a few days will also encourage the bearded dragons to eat vegetables, because this is their sole source of nutrition.

Misting the greens will also encourage the bearded dragon to eat their greens. The bearded dragon is attracted to the greens because the misting brings the greens to their attention. They will also be tempted to eat by moisture.

Baby and juvenile bearded dragons have a hard time to eating what they can’t see. A flat jar lid will help them see the greens and they will be tempted to try them. Piling the greens up will also encourage them to eat the greens. Babies and juvenile bearded dragons do not generally eat a lot of greens and their diet consists mostly of crickets. They will learn slowly to eat the veggies.
Feeding mealworms in the greens and on a salad will also make the bearded dragons accidentally eat the salad. Slowly the salad will also begin to disappear. Cutting pieces of yellow squash into strips will make the squash look like mealworms to the bearded dragons. Once they try the first one, the bearded dragons will begin eating them. You can also begin to place those on top of other greens and those will slowly begin to disappear as well.
Bearded dragons are also very visual. They assume that just about everything that moves is food. Many people drop their food from above the bearded dragons in their cage. Dropping small pieces of food from above may encourage the bearded dragons to try the greens as they are falling from above them. They will see the movement of the pieces of food and they will be tempted to eat them. Clipping pieces of greens and placing a fan on them will cause the greens to wave. The bearded dragon will be tempted to eat the moving greens. Soon, they will be pulling pieces off in no time.

For those bearded dragons that are still reluctant at eating their greens, your next option will be to gut load the bearded dragon’s crickets. Feed your bearded dragon’s greens and veggies to the crickets. Feed the gut-loaded crickets to the bearded dragons. They will receive the nutrients from their greens and veggies as their crickets have also eaten the veggies. This is a great way to get baby and juvenile bearded dragons to eat their greens. Babies and juvenile bearded dragons do not generally eat a whole lot of greens and will benefit from the gut-loaded crickets.

Variety is the spice of life for most bearded dragons. Spicing up their veggie diet will also encourage them to eat veggies as well. Colourful plants such as dandelions, hibiscus and other edible flowers and plants will brighten the habitat and the bearded dragons will become more interested in the new things in their cage.

Dusting the veggies in calcium may also make the bearded dragons eat them. They will usually eat other insects with calcium dusted on them and veggies are no different. They will soon eat their veggies because they are dusted in calcium as well.
Fruits and veggies provide the bearded dragon with moisture. They will also receive the necessary nutrients that veggies will provide the bearded dragon. Keep trying to mix things up with dragons that are reluctant to eat veggies on their own.

Hi and thanks for dropping by!

In this article, I just want to review The Ultimate Sugar Glider Care Guide which is a great guide I’ve purchased when I adopted my sugar glider a few weeks ago. I know many sugar gliders die because their owners don’t know the basics of sugar glider care. No need to learn the hard way, you can just start learning how to take care of your sugar glider before making any mistakes. Sounds logical to me though!

So let’s get started! If like me you love these sweet little pets, you’ll be glad to know how to take care of yours whether you already have one or plan on adopting one. They deserve good care!

Sugar gliders are not toys.
Sugar gliders are cute. They definitely are. And, unlike many rodent pets (well, they are not rodents but marsupials!), they enjoy our company and are very social animals. That’s basically why I adopted my sugar glider. (By the way mine is called Stan!). Having one is really fun!

But the thing is, they are pets, not toys, and yes, they can die without proper care. You’re responsible of your pet.

93% of sugar glider owners don’t know anything about sugar glider care. The result is: they often die within 9 months because (lazy?) people don’t take the time to learn how to take care of them.

The good news is, if you learn how to take care of your sugar glider, he can live 10 to 15 years!

Why a guide?
and why this one?
Well. You know, I was reading an article online listing the best tips to take care of a sugar glider and the second tip was: “Do plenty of research on the care and keeping of sugar gliders before you bring one home.” I hope the author won’t mind me posting this here…. I swear it’s what was written. Great advice, huh? lol

Ok, so I told myself that there must be a complete guide, simple and easy to read that could help me take care of my sugar glider and that I could refer to anytime I would need to.

I found it. Yes, it’s really that simple. I personally don’t have time to do “plenty of research”. I prefer having all the advices in one book or ebook and spend that time taking care, cuddling and playing with Stan (my sugar glider)!

Why The Ultimate Sugar Glider Care is essential in my opinion is because sugar gliders are exotic pets and they therefore need specific care. It’s not very hard to take care of a sugar glider but when I say specific I mean that you can make serious mistakes if you don’t know the basics of sugar glider care.

Click here to read the full article and the complete table of contents of this sugar glider guide!

If you are the owner of a Sugar Glider, you may be slowly killing it with the diet you are feeding or the environment you have your pet living in. A lot of pet owners may not want to believe or know this, but the harsh reality is, not knowing the proper care of a Sugar Glider is unfair to the animals health and unfortunately a grown trend in America and Europe.

Over the past few months of researching and finding out all the information on these little animals, I have been shocked by the neglect and improper care of Sugar Gliders. All over the Internet you will come across articles by vets who are treating Gliders for broken bones (due to lack of calcium), malnutrition because of a improper diet, and chronic fatigue and lethargy, with some Gliders hardly able to move, again, all because of lack of knowledge on diet and proper care.

Owners pay a whooping 200-250 dollars or euros each for Sugar Gliders, and it is recommended you buy a pair for the well been of the animals mental health, and then, this will not include the small fortune on the extras such as food, cages, toys, vet bills etc. so taking this all in to account, it baffles the mind why, in the same way you would treat a dog or cat, you would not research and do all that’s in your power to properly care for these cute creatures.

Know Your Pets Needs

The food giving to Sugar Gliders, as I have come across, hot dogs, Mac Donald’s, Coke, Pizza etc. is shocking. With this type of diet, these pets do not last very long, becoming weak and dying. They need a specially prepared diet, that can actually cost less than any junk food you may be giving these Sugar Gliders.

Gliders are exotic animals and difficult to care for, but not impossible. There is a ton of information on the internet, which some of it can be misleading. Do your research, prepare a diet plan for your pet, the same way you would if you lived a healthy lifestyle. Find out more Information on Sugar Glider Diets

Remember, as a pet, you are paying a lot of money first to buy a Glider, then with the accessories been an extra cost, it all adds up to a lot of money and would make a lot of sense to know your pets needs as Gliders are pretty cute, very loving and can make excellent pets when properly cared for.

Grab practical things to know in the sphere of affiliate marketing – make sure to go through this webpage. The times have come when concise info is really only one click of your mouse, use this possibility.

Whilst always keeping hens should be a wonderful activity for the household, and whilst I personally consider that chooks make wonderful pets, there are some disadvantages to attempting to keep chickens as well as positives.

Lets think of the positives first. Needless to say the largest positive to trying to keep chickens must be all those yummy free range eggs simply laying there waiting around that you simply get your hands on each afternoon or night. There’s nothing like consuming your own naturally healthy, and delightful free range eggs that have been laid that day simply for you. No hens had to go through living in a small crate to lay them for you personally, so you may feel good about having a refrigerator crammed filled with healthful foods.

Secondly chooks make excellent pets despite the fact that they’re fowls. Little ones just adore them. Ours will contentedly pick them up and may carry them all around for hours. It’s quite a delight managing chooks, and when you permit them to roam free around your yard it is satisfying watching all of them out your kitchen window while you prepare supper.

Third, if you make it possible for them to roam around at home they will really clean up a whole host of bugs which, if left on their own, may possibly eat your plants. It was our chooks that helped save our backyard from two summers of grasshopper plague. You really should see how many hopper one chicken should consume in a day.

Moreover it’s pretty simple, unlike for most domestic pets, to provide for your hens so that you do not need to make plans for them every time you go on trips. As I have large automatic storage containers for feeding and watering we are able to go on vacations leaving behind the chickens on their own and have never ever lost one yet, even though on trips.

Now to the disadvantages. Like all creatures chooks can potentially get sick and pass away. We have had occasions when the children have found a dead hen in the chicken house, and this is distressing for the kids. Whilst this obviously applies to all pets it is more prevalent when you keep hens. This obviously is simply because you tend to have quite a number of chickens, whereas many people may have one or at most 2 pet dogs or cats. In our situation with 15 hens it is more regular. And of course hens have a shorter life than some pets such as puppies or cats.

Secondly despite the fact that hens will cleanup quite a few of the unpleasant pests round your back garden they do so by scratching, and this can dig up the soil of your back garden beds. And they will also peck at your fruit and vegetables if you grow your own and they especially adore pecking tomatoes. You might need to safeguard your fruit and vegetables or some area of your garden.

Thirdly, like for many other domestic pets, there’s some work required, such as regular cleaning of the hen coop. Chickens poop all over the place and the coop, as well as feeding and water storage containers, must be cleaned. You must also learn a little more about pest avoidance as chickens can easily be susceptible to such problems as mites.

Fourthly whilst having fresh free range eggs is fantastic it doesn’t happen on a regular basis. Hens tend to go off the lay during the cold winter season, and older chooks lay less eggs than younger ones. Because of this there may be times when you are paying for chicken feed but still purchasing eggs.

I think nevertheless that the advantages of trying to keep chooks far outweighs the negatives. They’re among the very few family pets that are productive in addition to just being a pet, and for anybody thinking about keeping hens as domestic pets my answer is always to do it. Very few people have regretted keeping hens.

Don’t forget to visit my web site about chicken coops to find out more about how to discover the best chook shed for keeping your chickens.

The first thing to realize is that you can stop a ferret from biting. If you know why they might be biting then you can stop them doing it in the future. We will look into it in this article so that you can get a better relationship with your ferret.

The Youthful Biter

Youthful over-enthusiasm is the primary motive for ferrets biting. Younger ferrets, notably if they’re siblings, will tend towards tough playfulness with lots of nipping and biting. This isn’t one thing to worry about, unless it gets particularly heated.Check out ferret care

What does need to be sorted out, early on is their determination to include their owners within the play, by biting you the way in which they’d bite a fellow ferret.

There are a lot of ways to stop a ferret from biting, however the main factor to ensure, is that you don’t use any aggression in the direction of your pet. At most, you should drag them calmly across the floor to discourage dangerous behavior. That is something a mother ferret would do.

But actually, you’ll want to be mild and thoughtful in stopping biting, as they’re just trying to incorporate you in their games. It’s up to you to allow them to know that there’s acceptable play and not so acceptable play.Read the blog at ferret facts

The Signaler

If a ferret is in discomfort or ache they may typically have bother letting you know. So, instead of having a chat concerning the pain they’re in they’ll bite their owner. It’s a really direct means of getting attention, for sure. In case your ferret isn’t young and they start biting impulsively, chances are you’ll wish to pay close attention to them and think about any signs of sick health.

The biting could also be down to a change of circumstances. Watch out, in particular, for the introduction of recent pets, including other ferrets. They will get nervous around visitors or changes to their cages too. If doubtful, it’s possible that your ferret’s trying to let you know something if they begin biting out of the blue.

The Persuader

If biting your owner got you what you wished, wouldn’t you make a behavior of it? If a biting ferret is rewarded with treats or attention, in the hope of stopping the biting, then there’s no way the ferret will understand this correctly. They see biting, followed by reward and see this as the easiest way to get what they’re after. So, over time, they’ll see biting as a strategy to persuade you to co-operate.

If you let this type of pattern build up, for any size of time, it’s going to be quite a troublesome cycle to break, though it’s not impossible.

It should become clear fairly quickly when you are conscious of these three habits. When you know what the issue is you can go about dealing with it.

A wonderful hobby for children and for adults is keeping guinea pigs. And because of this guinea pigs are becoming an extremely popular pet. However if you’re now considering buying your first piggy you do need to first spend some time thinking about the guinea pig hutch you will house him in.

You can keep a guinea pig both indoors or outdoors, though if you keep him outdoors he can suffer from both excess cold and heat. You will keep him outdoors in a guinea pig hutch, though either indoors or outdoors you need to be aware of several things.

Think carefully about the guineapig cage you keep him in.

The majority of cages you find in pet shops or on the Internet are way too small, and will subject your new family members to a cramped lifestyle lacking in exercise and fun. Of course the reason that most people end up with a cage that is too small is that the smallest hutches are the cheapest. You need to make every effort to ensure that the hutch that you buy for your favourite pet is sufficiently large even if it means spending some extra money.

One way to overcome this problem is to build your own guinea pig hutch, and if you can scrounge simple second-hand materials you can do so very successfully and quite cheaply, and can make him a nice large cage.

But you should also understand that guinea pigs get bored easily and will still need entertainment even if they have a nice large hutch. The best way to provide entertainment for your guinea pig is to provide him with a companion, thoug you do need to research which sexes go together and which do not.

If you put 2 males together you can have fighting, and if you put a male with a female you’ll end up with lots of baby guinea pigs unless you desex one of them, or unless you separate them which defeats the whole purpose. The best combination is to buy 2 young females and house them together.

It’s important that they have hay in their cage as they need hay to aid their digestion. As well they need to have something to chew on as their teeth grow continually and chewing helps wear down their teeth. If you don’t provide something to chew, such as a piece of wood, they will probably chew on their cage. And they need playthings such as plastic pipes and boxes to run in and out of.

Take good care of your guinea pig

There’s no doubt that a guinea pig makes a fine pet but it is important to spend some time thinking about where you will house him, or them, and what type of guinea pig hutch you will provide. Make sure it is large with plenty of playthings, and know what sexes you will buy before you go ahead.

There’s no doubt that having a pet is a fine hobby for a family. But pets are not without their problems. It can get very expensive buying some pets and paying for the veterinary bills, extremely difficult to know what to do with some of them when you go away on holidays. Cats can devastate the local wildlife and dogs will bark at the neighbours and terrorise visitors.

But chickens don’t bark at the neighbours, aren’t expensive to buy or to feed, don’t get sick often and can safely be left for a week or more on their own if you do it right.

And as well as that chickens are very productive providing you with a fridge full of wonderful free range eggs, and the result can be some delightful omelettes for dinner. There’s many reasons why chickens may be the ideal family pet.

Sadly you can’t quite put one of your chickens on your lap at night when you’re sitting on the couch, but even so adults and children love chickens. I know our children love theirs.

Like all pets however you need to make a little effort to learn about keeping chickens. They will need a place to live, which is variously called a chicken coop, or chicken house or henhouse, and you will need to find a good place to buy one or else learn to make it yourself. The latter can be the cheapest method.

Your choice of hen house is all important.

And whilst chickens generally sleep in the henhouse at night it is best to allow them time to roam outside the coop during the day. You can do this by allowing your chickens to free range around the house where they can clean up some of the bugs in the garden, though you do have to overlook a little scratching and pecking.

They particularly love to peck at ripe tomatoes.

Or else you can provide a dedicated chicken run around the hen house where they can roam during the day.

A chicken run around the henhouse is ideal.

You will need to learn about feeding your hens. There are certain minimum requirements for protein and calcium which are important to meet if you want to get eggs, and so you will need to source some high protein foods, some shell grit to add calcium to their food and you will need to find appropriate appliances to deliver food and water.

And if you want to go away on holidays leaving your chickens to their own devices, as we do, you will need to make sure that you can provide sufficient food and water for a week or 2 at a time.

There is no doubt that keeping is a wonderful occupation for young children, and for adults. There is lots to learn but the learning process is enjoyable and rewarding. Begin your learning before you buy your first chicken, spend some time researching the requirements for chicken housing, and familiarise yourself with the correct feeding of chickens. Then get out there and buy your first hen.

And once you have your chickens you’re on your way to a healthy lifestyle of eating plenty of healthy free range eggs.

Do you know if the food you feed your pet is the right type for its body. Taking care and knowing your Sugar Gliders diet is very important. There are however, certain types of food you should never feed to a Glider or food you would keep to small amounts.

Foods To Avoid

Sugar Gliders are omnivores and anything you would put in-front of them, they will gladly eat, especially if it is sweet. Remember too, Gliders are tiny so a little bit of food is a lot to them. Also, anything fed in excess to any pet will be harmful. Learn the right way with a step by step Sugar Guide Care Guide.

Avoid dairy products like Ice-cream and cheeses etc. These animals are lactose intolerance but can tolerate a little. Giving a little flavored yogurt now and again is fine because the lactose in yogurt can be easily broken down with the bacteria it contains.
Providing babies a little yogurt on a daily basis is beneficial due to the bacteria and calcium it contains(calcium, very important for their bones.)

Gliders have a very sweet tooth but you should avoid constantly feeding them anything sweet and fatty, as they will more than likely put on weight and become plump, which is not good for any pet. Avoid small pieces of chocolate too as the lumps of chocolate can be fatal.

Vegetables or fruit that are normally treated with pesticides are classified as a high risk food, are very hard to clean and should be avoided. Some berries (raspberries, blackberries etc.) and veg like broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower etc. may be full of pesticide and very harmful to the small stomach of this pet.

Gliders love nuts and seeds, but these can be high in fat and low in nutritional value and would be better given as a treat. Consuming to much seeds and nuts will result in your pet getting fat, which can also result in fat deposits building up in their eyes and causing blindness. Some pet stores recommend bird seeds as a food for your glider but do not do this, find the right balanced diet for your pets needs.

Sugar Glider Odor. Does your Glider smell. These animals can be known to smell, yet this is again all down to the diet. Overfeeding, giving people food instead of glider food and an overfeeding of vitamins all contribute to the smell from your pet, especially the urine. Research and introduce the right balanced diet and your pet should smell like a bed of roses.

These are just a few examples of foods and situations that could be affecting the health and well been of your Glider. Find the right balanced diet, do the research and keep your Sugar Glider fit and healthy. Set up a diet plan and mix it up on a regular basis so they can enjoy it better.

Recently, a friend of mine showed me an cool snapshot of a new hamsters habitat that she bought for her child’s new pet hamster. When I saw it, it immediately grabbed/caught my attention!

My first reaction was… “Wow! This cage is really bright and large!”

Her answer to my reaction “Yes, yes, I know…” gave me the feeling that I was not the first person who had such a strong reaction to the photograph of her kid’s hamster cage.

Okay, so why did I react so strongly? Isn’t it just another old hamster cage? Please let me do my best and describe it, in the hope that you understand that this is Not ‘Just Another Hamster Cage’.

So, the first thing that grabbed my eye (you can’t miss it) is its color. While it has a colorful blend of yellow, orange, blue and red tubes, the overall color that pops out to me is orange. How’s that for a cheerfully colored hamster cage?

Secondly, it has these large dark-bright-orange swirly tubes on the sides that make it look like somebody’s fantasy slide playground come to life. It also has this cool dome-shaped attic top that’s dark transparent yellow in color with a red colored base. (She amusingly informed me that this is the eating room.)

The rest of the cage is see-through plastic, but her kid chose to stick some stickers on it. All in all, this is a luxurious 3 storey hamster cage!!! (Goodness! I wish I had a 3 level house that someone else would clean for me every week.) At first, I couldn’t really figure out what the stickers were, but she told me they were stickers that had a fairground theme. Amusingly enough, the stickers came together with the cage, as a package.

Best of all, I couldn’t help but chuckle out loud when she told me the name of the hamsters cage. When she said the words ‘Fairground Fun’, I instantly made the connection and gave a silent salute to whoever designed the it. It really did look like a fairground. And I think I wouldn’t mind having such a engaging home to live in. Now, if only I could transform into a hamster…

So, after seeing what a great-looking fun cage this is, I decided to come up with 3 Reasons You Should Buy A Rotastak Fairground Fun Hamster CageFor Your Kid’s New Pet Hamster

1. Kids will take pleasure in watching their hamster run around in and loving their home. It’s amazing how curiously long your kid can stare at his/her pet hamster climb up and down the tubes. Having a three storey hamster cage means your kids will never get tired watching their hamster explore the various rooms of the cage.

2. The hamster gets enough space to run around and exercise in. Apparently, the cage even comes with a hamster exercise wheel. I have to highlight that this really is a big hamsters cage. My friend tells me there’s hardly any room left for anything else ever since she put it on her living room table.

3. Your kid will have fun putting the cage up. Since the cage comes with all these tunnels, tubes and three main units that join together, buying this hamster cage is like buying them a puzzle that you and your kids can fit and solve together. There’s a sense of satisfaction when they see that they’re able to set up such a grand looking hamster cage.

I can think of a few other reasons why getting this extraordinary astonishing hamster cage for a kid’s pet hamster is a good idea. But I think I better stop here for now. This post is getting kind of long. I might have gotten carried away rambling about my friend’s new hamster cage.

So, click here if you want to find out more details about the Rotastak Fairground Fun Hamster Cage. Just imagine how big and wide a kid’s smile will be when they receive this as a gift. I know it put a great big smile on my face when I saw it!
